today was supposed to be a nice 50 minute run, but my training partner decided she wanted to put down some tempo miles… first 2 miles were around 6:30, and the 2nd two were around 7:45. and this was a four mile run, not like a workout so this was REALLY HARD for me. these are probably other people’s average times, but i feel very accomplished after this practice! needless to say, i’m in pain and my knee hurts.
today was a tough workout, but not nearly as bad as when i did the same exact workout a week and a half ago!

today we did 1000s
2 miles warm up, 3 x 1000m @3:35-45, mile cool down
they were on our course, so with small hills and uneven grass which did nothing good for my already aching ankles.

warm up = mod. paced run to the park (approx. 1.5 miles)
4 x gradual 800m hill
6 x steep hill (sprints)
cool down = 1.5 miles back to the school
my knee didn’t hurt during the workout! but afterwards on the cool down it did… can’t complain. i’m missing tomorrow - we’re supposed to have a duel meet, but it might be rescheduled because of rain anyway - so i might just go on a run right after school before FLORENCE~~
i just went on the most perfect run with the perfect playlist. ~5 miles at sub 8 minute pace and i felt really really good. perfect weather and everything ahhhh AND my knee didn’t bother me! only a bit at the end. i felt like i could’ve kept running for a few more miles at that pace, but it was starting to get dark and my parents get mad when i’m running at night. mood: HAPPYHAPPYHAPPY

(with < 30 second break and 400m jogs in between)
and i actually didn’t feel like i was dying, i’m proud of this one :’) i’ve never done that many 400m reps, let alone at that pace… in cross country season i’m in way better shape than track season. WOO
in other news, my knee KILLS it hurts so so bad, even with my band.
i just did a shortened speed workout on the grass around the outside of my house. distances were estimated obviously, but were intended to be: 200, 400, 800.. lol the 800 was probably more like a 400-500. ok that was pointless. anyway.. i did 2 x “200”, 2 x “400”, “800”, 2 x “400”, cool down of about an actual 800m.
i had a really good run and i’m proud! :’) the workout was 7 miles, but i stayed with my fast friend and her dad the whole time and we did 7.5 miles at a pace varying in between 7:30-7:50 and we ran mostly on road, but probably a mile total on grass.
we did a 20 minute warm-up run and then we got to work. 8 steep hill sprints + 8 there-and-backs in the basin and up the sides of it. the basin workout SUCKS. and then my coach was mad apparently that i didn’t keep up with the two fastest girls on the team, but god forbid he actually TELL US HIMSELF. but honestly that pissed me off so much, i tried my best and was still 3rd by a lot and i couldn’t move my legs any faster. i’m not disappointed in myself because why should i be. and plus i’m hurting everywhere up and down my right leg.
today was an 8 mile run! my first half of the run was fast.. 7-8 minute pace, mostly low 7 minute because i ran with my friend who’s really fast and her dad, but then my knee started bothering me a bit so i pulled back (i couldn’t maintain that pace the whole way anyway) and soon enough found another team mate and we ran the second half of the run together at probably 9 minute pace with a few stops because it was just way too hot today. it was an ehhhh kind of run i guess. i also picked up a little band thing for my patella/knee whatever…

hopefully that’ll help with that little issue…
